I have lost several ferrets from various types of cancer.  You don't know someone serrenders the animal into your care can the bad things come out.  This would bother me and I couldn't get people to help get the funds so the animals were keep, but no longer took in the others sent to other rescues.

This message board is a chance for those who have lost a bird or an exotic companion to find others who may offer comfort and an empathetic presence. People to journey with us when a beloved companion has died may not be easy to find. My hope is that we will find those who can help heal our hearts as we remember the winged beauty in our lives.

I have known the loss of many birds in my life. One place where I have found those who understand have been those who have helped put the Wings of Compassion website together (lafeberwingsofcompassion.com). This includes the staff of Beyond Indigo and Dr. Ted Lafeber. Imagining all those that would come to this site fueled my desire to build this website - and in the creating I remembered my companions of days gone by and found comfort, peace, and joy. May your experiences here on this Message Board and on the website hold similar potential for the hope of healing.

With gratitude for all the birds I've known,

LoraKim

Dear Friends,

May the birds you know and have known keep flying in your heart and memories.
