Do not let your days slip by aimlessly, but be ever on the lookout for the meaning behind every episode that comes along. Life is not something just to be muddled through, but given so that you may welcome and rejoice in every experience. It is the way in which you accept your experiences that matters.
At death there is physical separation, but no separation of the human spirit, which is the real self. If you truly love your companion, he or she is with you, closer than breathing, because you and he or she both are part of God.
You feel that you have too much to do; but, you know, it is not the amount of work, it is the way you do it that causes you to be battered and worn out; it is your attitude of mind towards that work. If you are interested ... if you do one thing at a time quietly, and do not have a million other things in your mind at the same time, then you will find that you will get through all the work you have to do quite calmly, and you will feel refreshed instead of worn out at the end of the day.
When I was young, I said to God, "God, tell me the mystery of the universe." But God answered, "That knowledge is reserved for me alone." So I said, "God, tell me the mystery of the peanut." Then God said, "Well, George, that's more nearly your size." And he told me.
Today I know that I cannot control the ocean tides. I can only go with the flow... When I struggle and try to organize the Atlantic to my specifications, I sink. If I flail and thrash and growl and grumble, I go under. But if I let go and float, I am borne aloft.

Why do some people see beautiful skies and grass and lovely flowers and incredible human beings, while others are hard-pressed to find anything or any place that is beautiful?
I thank you, God, for blessings, big and small;
For spring's warm glow and song-bird's welcome call;
For autumn's hue and winter's white snow shawl.
I thank you for the harvest rich with grain;
For tall trees and the quiet shadowed land;
For rushing stream, for birds that love to fly;
My country's land, the mountains and the plain.
I thank you for each sunset in the sky,
For sleepy nights, the bed in which I lie.
I thank you, God, for all these things above;
But most of all I thank you for your Love.

Having spent the better part of my life trying either to relive the past or experience the future before it arrives, I have come to believe that in between these two extremes is peace.

Often you are upset and disturbed because so many things are awaiting your attention, and you work too hard in your mind. You do a piece of work a hundred times mentally when you need actually do it only once. You say to yourself again and again, "I must do so and so," but "so and so" does not get done. Train yourself, then, to meet the work of the moment when it comes, and quietly do it. ...It is better to put any task or problem right out of your mind until the opportunity comes to deal with it....

When something does not insist on being noticed, when we aren't grabbed by the collar or struck on the skull by a presence or an event, we take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude.

Did you know that your thoughts are drawn by magnetic attraction towards other thought-streams, either positive or negative. ... All your positive thoughts-by this we mean uplifting, constructive thoughts-by the law of attraction, join great streams of thought which are good, which are of the White Light.

Do not worry; eat three square meals a day; say your prayers; be courteous to your creditors; keep your digestion good; exercise; go slow and easy. Maybe there are other things your special case requires to make you happy; but, my friend, these I reckon will give you a good lift.
Is it so small a thing to have enjoyed the sun, to have experienced the light in the spring, to have loved, to have thought, to have done?

You don't look upon suffering in the right way; you must regard suffering as something that is bringing to a soul a blessed gift. You know this in your own way from going through little experiences, little tests. Although they are hard at the time and often you are full of fear, you know that when the experience is over, something has come into your soul: your vision is clearer; you have learned something; you have gained an understanding that you lacked before.

We can easily manage if we will only take, each day, the burden appointed to it. But the load will be too heavy for us if we carry yesterday's burden over again today, and then add the burden of the morrow before we are required to bear it.

When you are tempted to say of another, "Oh how selfish he/she is; how greedy; how unkind he/she is!" turn those words about and say instead: "How good he/she is; how well he/she means...he/she is doing his/her best." As you look for the best in everyone, in spite of the mists that obscure it, so strength will flow into you, and peace will dwell in you.
You all have problems of one kind or another, and many of you have fears for the future. Never cross your bridge before you come to it. If and when you come to it, you will be carried across it with great power and love.

I like to think of each new day as a gift, with so many new things to discover and share...There is so much beauty surrounding us in the nature world and in all of life, if we just stand still and open our eyes as it unfolds each day. It is in these moments of discovery that we allow ourselves to truly experience all the wonder and sweetness of life!

The best things are nearest: breath in your nostril, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of God just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things of life.

The power that comes when the heart is set upon God can reverse negative to positive, darkness to light. The inflowing of the Light will produce perfect health, because it will produce harmony.

"I can forgive, but I cannot forget" is only another way of saying, "I will not forgive." Forgiveness ought to be like a canceled note-torn in two and burned up so that it never can be shown against one.

The unknown is what it is. And to be frightened of it is what sends everybody scurrying around chasing dreams, illusions, wars, peace, love, hate, all that... Accept that it's unknown, and it's plain sailing.

Walk each day in childlike faith, with your hand clasped in the hand of your Master. That hand is the hand of truth, it is security, it will never fail you. Earthly persons may fail you but never your Master.

Oh, my friend, it's not what they take away from you that counts. It's what you do with what you have left.

By learning to contact, listen to, and act on our intuition, we can directly connect to the higher power of the universe and allow it to become our guiding force.

We often spend money and time making our physical homes safe and comfortable, so that we can be content, and so that others will be comfortable when they visit us. When people come to visit our physical home it is a good opportunity for us to clean, and to tidy up. In the same way, people are "visiting" us all the time, all those we pass and meet. In fact, you could say that our mental aura is an externalized emanation of a home-when people step into our presence it is as if they step inside the door of our home. And what do they find? We can make this "home" comfortable for others, just like our physical one can be. In so doing, of course, it will feel a much more comfortable place to live in for us. We will then find that more and more we are feeling safe and content, as will those around us-and a little bit of heaven will be externalized on earth!
When you have got an elephant by the hind legs and he is trying to run away, it is best to let him run.

Many live in dread of what is coming. Why should we? The unknown puts adventure into life...The unexpected around the corner gives a sense of anticipation and surprise. Thank God for the unknown future.
Forgiveness is one of the hardest lessons that humanity has to learn, but as we forgive so we ourselves are forgiven...Forgiveness in your heart brings sunshine, peace of soul and tranquility into your life.

"Underneath are the everlasting arms!" Strange it is to find how many people refuse the comfort of those everlasting arms! Yet infinite all-enfolding love is an ever-present reality. God is everywhere, is in everything. There is no place where God is not.
When I was young, I said to God, "God, tell me the mystery of the universe." But God answered, "That knowledge is reserved for me alone." So I said, "God, tell me the mystery of the peanut." Then God said, "Well, George, that's more nearly your size." And he told me.

And the Master says, "As you give in love and service, so shall you receive in full measure, pressed down and running over. And my peace I give to you, my peace and love I leave with you, and it shall remain forever. It is for you to receive and to treasure it in your heart, so that it remains in your consciousness evermore."

I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning.
We cannot too strongly emphasize the power of thought. You think that thought is something private-that no one can read human thoughts, but truly there is no covering to thought. ...Thought can create good health and thought can also heal... Thought can do anything in the world. ...Thought can bring forth beauty and harmony... and all else that men and women long for. ...By seeing only good, by creating good, by positive thought, we can help bring about that which is desirable and good.
When something does not insist on being noticed, when we aren't grabbed by the collar or struck on the skull by a presence or an event, we take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude.
Forgiving means to pardon the unpardonable; faith means believing the unbelievable; and hoping means to hope when things are hopeless.
Whether one is twenty, forty, or sixty; whether one has succeeded, failed or just muddled along; whether yesterday was full of sun or storm, or one of those dull days with no weather at all, life begins each morning!... Each morning is the open door to a new world-new vistas, new aims, new trying.

You are all tense, and it is for your good and your health and your peace of mind consciously to practice relaxation. If you will endeavor to get the feeling that the world is holding you up instead of you holding the world up, you will be surprised how much easier you feel. You cannot hold the world up; God does that. And God upholds you.

Not all of our decisions will be correct. None of us is perfect. But if we get into the habit of making decisions, experience will develop our judgment to a point where more and more of our decisions will be right. After all, it is better to be right 51 percent of the time and get something done, than it is to get nothing done because we fear to reach a decision.

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned. Those who are free of resentful thoughts surely find peace.
